This is a spot that first aired on SNL last night. It’s impeccably done with a good message. However, it’s very ,VERY similar to the Girl Effect video (1 post prior to this). I know BBDO is full of highly intelligent, talented creatives, some of the best. So I hope for the reputation of the team responsible for this ad, and Starbucks, they got permission from Girl Effect to ‘borrow’ the idea.
*Separate Note: The spot features the typeface Gotham, which I have a bit of a hard-on for at the moment. I’ve even written about it on this very blog. It’s also the typeface chosen by the Obama team for all his advertisements. I wonder if this is a subliminal message Starbucks is sending voters. If so, I hope it works.
